Fimbulvinter

My best friend Janka and I started holding a lil' bi-weekly drawing challenge, and our best friend Natalia is in charge of throwing us the topic :D Our first topic is ragnarok, because, well, it is supposedly nigh.
It is supposed to be started off with a three year long Fimbulvinter. So my drawing is kind of a variation on the subject of winter, vikings and their gods.
T'was a good thing to draw! I much needed a break from my current project so this was a godsend (hah, god).

Had this notion on my mind for yeeears... Few days ago it came back to my brain again so I decided to finally get it out fo reals, not just as one of many unused sketches I did a while back. :)

I had a lot of fun making that last illustration so I wanted to spit out another one because not everything has to be a milestone in progression. ;)
Color scheme just in time for today's Valentine's Day, lol.

Been trying out some new photoshop techniques -- achieving translucency by using gradients rather than flat block in colors, restricting the palette for a stronger effect... I must say I quite like the outcome! Worked out well for this illustration. :)
